I Blame It On...
One of my classmates in high school encouraged me to return. The only qualms I have about blogging is that I don't have enough time to just sit down and write anymore. I began blogging in 2003 when I felt lonely and was bored out of my mind in the middle of the night. That blog that I began has since gone into retirement. I thought I had saved my entries, many are one-liners and senseless posts of private thoughts. But I don't know if the file I saved is still where I had saved it.
I don't think a lot of people have personal blogs anymore. One reason for this is the coming of age of Twitter, Plurk, and all those Status updates on the different social networks. The ease of being able to text in what you're feeling makes blogging seem like a thing of the past. Much like writing your thoughts using a pen and paper.
I admit that I have also succumed to the modernism of society. I joined Twitter in 2007. I update my Facebook status regularly. And I have even given in to Plurk (whose idea of Karma up & down still makes no sense to me). But I still miss blogging.
I miss formulating witty entries and having blog friends who yay or nay with my entries. I miss posting pictures or fun online quizzes. I miss posing life questions where people from all walks of life can offer their own opinions. I miss sharing knowledge or passing on emails through my blog. I just realize now that my blog did seem to have it all. What the social networks offer, I was already doing in my blog.
Why did I leave?
So as I sit here at the office on a Friday afternoon, the silence takes me back to a time where all I had was a blog. I decided that right now was the perfect time to reminisce on what I had as a frequent blogger. Thank goodness for lazy Fridays and a supervisor on vacation. I figured if I didn't write now, I wouldn't get the opportunity to write again.
Here's hoping to returning to the blogging world... TTFN (",)

Isang Malaking Stir
I copied this survey from my cousin's notes.
Here's a chance to see how well you really know your boyfriend or girlfriend. Cut, paste and fill in the answers, then tag your friends. Shoot, you know what to do. The real challenge is to send it to your loved one to see how right you really are.
Part 1
1. He/she's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?▪ His premium cable was discontinued, so he's probably watching local channels; shows on ABC like World News with Charles Gibson or NBC's The Tonight Show Night with Conan O'Brien.
2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does she/he get on his salad?▪ Nothing. He seems to enjoy his salad without dressing.
3. What's one food he doesn't like?
▪ One lang? Onions, pickles. Oily food.
4. You go out to eat. What drink does he order?
▪ Sweet tea or a raspberry tea
5. Where did he go to high school?
▪ Clocolan Hoerskol, or however you spell "high school" in Dutch, hehe.
6. What size shoe does he wear?
▪ I think he wears 12 1/2
7. If he were to collect anything, what would it be?
▪ Cellphones! I think he owns 4 for himself, and he buys phones for his whole family. Even bought me my last 2 phones.
8. What would he eat every day if he could?
▪ I asked him this question once, and he told me he can live on vegetables. I told him his answer was lame. Haha.
9. What would he never wear?
▪ Loud colored shirts. A banana hammock a.k.a. a Speedo. Hahaha.
10. What is his favorite sports team?
▪ Dallas Mavericks! L.A. Lakers, and one very obvious soccer team so I won't mention. Haha.
11. Who will he vote for President?
▪ Rudy Giuliani (sp?) had he won the Republican Party nomination. If he could've voted last Nov, he would've voted Obama.
12. Who is his best friend?
▪ Me, of course! Hehe. And Olu, and this guy Robert (I think that's his name).
13. What is one thing he wishes you wouldn't do?
▪ To forget him. Yes, melodramatic.
14. You bake a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake?
▪ For his last birthday, I baked cornbread for him. So technically not a cake, but he loved it :D
15. Did he play sports in high school?
▪ I think he played soccer, or cricket. I'm not sure.
16. What could he spend hours doing?
▪ Talk! Hehe. Work on/edit his documentary ideas.
Part 2
How long have you been together?
▪ We've known each other for almost 3 years.
How long did you know each other before you started dating?
▪ We had our first "date" after 4 and a half months. Hehehe.
How old are each of you?
▪ We're both 26. He turned 26 five months ahead of me.
Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple?
▪ The usual - distance.
Did you go to the same school?
▪ Yes, for a year.
Are you from the same home town?
▪ Definitely not.
Who is smarter?
▪ We both are, in our own way. Hehe.
Who is the most sensitive?
▪ I am.
Where do you eat out most as a couple?
▪ Cosi, this French sandwich place; he's taken me to the Olive Garden 3 times; Chipotle and Mi Tierra :D
Who has the worse temper?
▪ He claims he does, so he's warned me not to "mess" with him. I think I do just because I throw things when I'm mad. So basically, we don't know who has it worse coz we haven't made the other mad enough to compare. Hahahaha :D
Who does the cooking?
▪ We both cook. I've cooked for him more though. But he gives me recipe ideas when I've run out of stuff to cook for my family.
Who is the neat-freak?
▪ We both are. But I think he's the bigger freak. Haha.
Who is more stubborn?
▪ Again, we're both stubborn, but he takes the cake on this one. Haha.
Who wakes up earlier?
▪ He does. I often ask him to give me wake up calls when I need to get up early. If we both get up at the same time, wake up calls can go both ways.
Who is more jealous?
▪ I am. No contest.
Who eats more?
▪ I think I do. Hahaha. He just eats faster.
Who’s better with the computer?
▪ Depends on the program, but for the most part, he is :)
Midnight in Texas...good night, y'all!

Another Year...
I turned 26 today. Another year has passed. How time flies, eh. I know I haven't blogged here for a while. In fact, i haven't blogged ANYWHERE for a while, and I know that I am plain rusty. Anyway, Teko took me out for lunch today. I choose to forget all the drama that transpired this morning. Bottom line is he made up for all the drama. And yes, I also do feel bad for making him go through all the hoops. I did realize that "What I want, I get." Mama has told me that time and again. She stated that I have the tendency to manipulate my boyfriends into doing things for me. She would tease me about how I can manage to talk my boyfriend into buying stuff for me. What can I say? I am loved. Haha. Of course, I still refuse to believe it is entirely true. All the situations that point to the contrary are merely coincidence.
Teko asked me what I felt like eating, and asked if I would want to eat at Cosi, which has evolved into our favorite restaurant. A couple of minutes later, he asked, "What do you think about lunch at Olive Garden?" Oh, how I love Olive Garden. We had a double date there 2 Christmases ago, which seems like eons ago, quite frankly. Later, while we were waiting for our food, he admitted, "taking you here actually makes me feel better than taking you to Cosi." Awwww.
And then he wanted to order desert for me. We were going to try the Tiramisu. Neither of us had had it before. But the kitchen was busy because there was a party they had catered to, and so they couldn't prepare it fast enough, and we ended up with a raspberry cheesecake. And I got to make a wish and blow out a candle =)

We then stopped by H.E.B. because he had to send money to his brothers. And he handed me a Visa gift card. I was in shock, and all I could say was, "you didn't have to." We wanted the day to last longer, but he had a meeting and had to return to work earlier than we had wanted. But before heading back, Teko wanted to make sure I got my fix of Starbucks' Caramel Frappuccino.
I don't think there are enough words to thank Teko. He is so sweet, and I know he cares about me a whole lot. I can't imagine anyone who would put himself in jeopardy for me. I know I gave him a hard time this morning, and he pushed through. And I really feel bad for what I told him before. This day will stand as one of my most memorable birthdays in years to come, that's for sure.
When I got home, to continue with the lively mood, I had a Backstreet Boys CD marathon while I cooked my birthday dinner of lumpiang shanghai, spaghetti, and chocolate fudge. When I was done, I was too tired to eat. Hahaha.
So yeah, that's that. My 26th birthday in a nutshell =) TTFN (",)
Countdown to The Sims 3!!!
On Camera, Smiling Big
I received my copy of "Teko Comes Home" in the mail today, and popped it in the DVD drive of my laptop. Soon enough, I was bawling. Damn that. Then I saw myself, and I started laughing. Bwahahaha. I'm funny. No, I didn't say anything laugh-worthy, but my face is make-up-less and my voice is tiny. Bah! As if I haven't heard myself before. But grabe ang smile ko when we were filmed in Downtown San Antonio. Labas both dimples ko. Char! My stint wasn't that long. I don't think it lasted longer than 3 minutes. It makes me wonder how Teko was telling me that people were asking him about me after the show aired.
In fact, there was a lot of material not included in the documentary. I remember that the film crew was in San Antonio for 2 weeks or so. We even had a farewell party at school where they were in attendance and filming (where I remember messing up badly in front of the camera-costing them film. Yikes!). That wasn't in the doccie. Just goes to show how much time goes into filming and editing documentaries.
It was really nice. Eye-opening even, somewhat.
Haaaaay. Memories. Good times.
I Miss Blogging
It's just that I can never find time to sit down in front of the computer and blog anymore. I can't even study properly because I end up doing totally random things when I do find myself online.
Ya'see, just yesterday, I had resolved to stick to studying. Instead I ended up watching videos of Anoop Desai on YouTube. And then today, I ended up looking for celebrities to follow on Twitter. Hahaha.
Then I decided to check out my blog. For the life of me, I couldn't even remember the URL of my blogspot. So there I was, typing away and I landed on someone else's blogspot. Imagine the horror. I thought Blogger cancelled my account because I haven't been updating at all. I tried to calm down, then finally inserted a hyphen, and voila, my page appears. What a sigh of relief I gave out. Haha.
And then I start mu blog entry on Multiply. Silly.
So yeah, my blog is here http://miss-laureen.blogspot.com. If you take out the hyphen, it brings you to an unwed 22-year old mother's page with NO ENTRIES AT ALL. pwahaha.
Later, skaters...TTFN (",)
